Camaro, Nova, or Chevelle, these adapter plates are designed to adapt the traditional 3-bolt Chevy mount to the LS engine, allowing for true bolt-in installation of an LS engine in your classic GM car or truck!
The plates have three choices for mounting position:
The first position places the LS bellhousing flange in the same position as the SBC. While this is the most desirable position, many cars have firewall or other clearance issues due to the differences between the traditional engines and the LS. The LS passenger side cylinder head sits much closer to the bellhousing flange than the SBC/BBC, which causes interference on many cars.
If the first position won't work, the second position moves the engine 7/16" forward of the original bellhousing flange position.
The furthest forward position is 1-3/4" forward from the original position. We have found these options accommodate the widest array of header/crossmember/steering gear combinations.
These plates are precision machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and include all necessary Grade 8 or above hardware. Unlike the other guys who use a water jet, ours are made on a CNC mill for the ultimate in precision and consistency.
