Difficult to Find! NHRA Required for all cars with roll bar or cage.

No welding necessary

This is a seat brace for attaching the driver's seat to the harness bar of a roll bar or cage, such as mandated by the NHRA for drag racing. Ours is easily adjustable if you need to move the seat to multiple positions for different drivers. It is not required to remove this brace from the car to adjust the length.

We see a lot of cars that do not have these. Technically that's a violation of the rules, but also a bad idea. In a crash, keeping your seat in place can prevent your head from hitting the roll bar!

Additionally, it will improve ergonomics in your car, as the seat will no longer flex backward on launch, moving the driver backward.

Made by Scram Speed in the USA

This unit is for a 1-1/2" harness bar. Supplied unfinished as pictured.

BE SURE TO MEASURE! The harness bar is often a different diameter than the rest of the cage. This is a common cause for ordering the wrong size!

We also sell these in 1-5/8" and 1-3/4" sizes. Please check our other items. Thanks for looking!

I received the Scram Speed seat brace today. It was packed well and the quality is too notch. It appears to be chromoly with beautiful welds. If I had to find any negative it would be the size of the plate that bolts to the rear of seat. It could be bigger to spread the load better.

This seat brace is used for road racing in and S2000 with Kirkey seats and a Hard Dog roll bar. The harness bar is 1 1/2” diameter, but I mounted it to the 1 3/4” bulkhead bar instead. Its thicker wall and closer proximity to the seat is ideal. I hope I never need to test its safety, but it’s required for many seats without FIA certification. It makes the seat much stiffer too, which allows better feedback from the car.
